Job Overview:
We are looking for a Release Engineer / Release Manager with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the release management lifecycle, ensuring smooth deployments, managing release schedules, and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product releases. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a collaborative mindset to help streamline the release process.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate product releases across various environments, ensuring all dependencies are managed and timelines are met.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure efficient and seamless deployments.
- Develop and maintain release plans, deployment checklists, and documentation for all releases.
- Monitor release processes, identifying and addressing issues or risks to ensure the quality and stability of the released products.
- Implement automation tools and scripts to streamline and improve release processes.
- Manage and document release notes, including new features, improvements, and resolved issues.
- Provide support during release activities, troubleshooting issues in real-time, and coordinating rollbacks if necessary.
- Continuously improve release processes to enhance delivery speed, reliability, and quality.
- Maintain and communicate release schedules to relevant stakeholders, ensuring visibility and clarity on upcoming releases.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation across the release process.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in release engineering, release management, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and release management tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Bitbucket).
- Basic knowledge of scripting (e.g., Bash, Python) and automation for deployments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools, including build and deployment automation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve release-related issues promptly.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple releases simultaneously, with strong attention to detail and a focus on quality.
- Adaptability and a proactive approach to implementing improvements in the release process.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
